At the request of Mom I have decided to teach Jonah how to do the dishes. Here are the results.

Date night

It was Mason's turn to go on a date with Jill. He has been asking for months when his turn would be. We decided that Friday Night was a good night. We started out by going to Primos. It is the boy's favorite place to go eat. He start with about 2 to 3 pieces of cheese pizza and then he ate about 5-6 more pieces of desert pizza. In his defense, the desert pizza is really good. After dinner we went to the movie "Monsters vs. Aliens". That was really fun. It was even more cool because we got to see it in 3D. Following the movie we made our way over to Boondocks, where Mason spent his last hour playing video games and getting candy. It was a lot of fun going on a date with Mason. Maybe next time he will pay!

Jonah's first Easter egg hunt

Jonah turned out to be a naturally talented egg finder.

Here is our family Easter photo. Jonah is trying to take after his uncle John and is practicing his thug look.

Our Weekend Getaway

Ben & I had a little weekend away. We left Friday afternoon and drove to Twin Falls. The Shoshone Falls was suppose to be at it's peak this weekend. No the first picture is not the real falls!!!
This is the Shoshone Falls. It was pretty impressive. We were glad we went Friday because we knew several people that drove down Sunday afternoon and it took them as long to get into the park as it did to drive to Twin.
We had only been here once before and there was only a little trickle of water. We spent the night and then just had a fun Saturday driving around looking at things. The last picture is my "somewhere over the Rainbow picture".

Blake turns 2

So Blake is now 2 years old. It was such a fun day. Of course he had to share the day with Easter, but I think he was okay with that. He had so much fun. He really is growing up he can say about 6 or 7 words! Aren't you impressed Marie? His word are Mommie, Daddie, Me Me (for Mason) EEE (for Ian) B (for Blake) Ora (for Dora) Mi Mou (for Mickey Mouse) ma mou (for my milk). Okay, no one else can understand him, but I can. He has a few other things he can say, but I can't remember them. He is so sweet though. He has really been a fun baby. He is very picky and hard to feed, but I love him anyway.

Fun in the sun!

This morning Reagan and I went for a walk. While we were walking Reagan noticed that someone was watering their yard. This gave Reagan the brilliant idea that he should jump out of the stroller and run through their sprinkler. Seeing how it was only 8:30am and it wasn't our yard I decided that I needed to convince Reagan not to do it. So I told Reagan if he was a good boy and stayed in the stroller I would let him play on the water slide latter today. I secretly hoped that he wouldn't remember. Of course he wouldn't let me forget. I am not sure if it was actually warm enough to play outside in water but it was warm. So here is a video of the first water fun of the season.

Officially a Big Boy

Not too long ago Reagan was a cute little baby.

Now Reagan is a cute Big Boy!

I think Reagan may be officially a big boy now. I decided that we need to get Reagan totally potty trained before the baby comes. He has been doing well letting us know when he has to go #2 since Christmas. He would only potty in the toilet when he had to go #2. I decided that we need to just have him wear underpants so he could learn when he had to go. After a few days I was a little frustrated because every 20 minutes he would go on the floor. When I went to Costco last week I realized that this was going to be a long road. I bought him a case a diapers because I didn't believe that he was really going to figure it out.

Reagan decided to prove me wrong. Every day he started doing a little better. He could soon go 30 minutes before he went on the floor. Then he could go 45 minutes before I had a mess to clean up. Then he started listening to me when I told him he had to go to the bathroom. This made it so he only went on the floor a couple times a day and he would get really upset and cry when he got his underpants wet.

Wednesday was a magical day. Reagan listen to me every time I asked him to go the restroom and he never refused. He even told me a few times that he needed to go to the bathroom. He only wet his pants one time the whole day. When he did wet his pants he said, "Oh no, a pee out!" On Thursday we had no accidents at all. On Friday we made it to the end of the day. Reagan did something naughty and had to go to time out. When Abram went in to talk to Reagan he had a little accident on Abe's lap. It was small enough that we didn't realize he had done it for quite awhile.

This morning after being awake for awhile Reagan told me he needed to go to the bathroom. When I took off his diaper it was completely dry. He made it all night with out getting his diaper wet. I am hoping this means that he is officially potty trained. I guess I can't be too upset that I have an unopened case of diapers. I am sure that he will still need to wear diapers to bed for awhile and whenever we go anywhere. So I should be able to use the diapers still.

Tea Party

Tea parties around the country yesterday tapped into the collective angst stirred up by a bad economy, government spending and bailouts. The rallies were directed at President Barack Obama's administration on a symbolic day: the deadline to file income taxes. Cory, the kids and I decided to head down to our local tea party protest at the State Capital, here is Boise. I have never been one for protests, although I respect those who do make a stand for what they believe in. It was really cool. Some people were dressed up like Benjamin franklin but most were just regular hard working Americans wanting their voice heard. I really admire how passionate they are. Thousands marched down to the capital and gathered in front of it where we heard a few speaches to get people riled up and we even broke out in song, singing the national anthem and other patriotic songs. They even served a roasted pig, for symbolic reasons. One thing I really liked was how peaceful the protest was. Everyone was so friendly. The protest ended with a prayer for our country. I love being a republican!

I posted some pictures of some of the signs. Enjoy!

My favorites: "Show us the birth cerificate" " I'll keep my money, my freedom, & my guns. You can keep the CHANGE!" "Yes we can! Financially enslave America" "America, Land of the homeless"

The guy who was holding the homeless sign really was homeless, I think..... I wish I would have gotten a picture of his face.

Cory made a little sign on his computer before he left work. We all got a chance to hold it. If you want to learn more about Tax freedom day click here. It is pretty amazing.

A day in the life of Jonah

Jonah is usually very happy when he wakes up. Here he is multitasking by playing with his toys while he eats breakfast.

Dad was in charge of lunch and Jonah was lucky and dad brought home White Castle. He ate a bunch of fries and really enjoyed chewing on the boxes. He didn't want to actually eat the "hamburgers".

He discovered this basket and really likes sitting in it. Marie is not so happy about this because he is ruining her nice basket.

He was playing a little too hard and got a bump over his eye. He is tough and only cried for a little while.

The stroller had a flat so dad helped Jonah fix it.

Here is something else Jonah decided to sit in. Again he is multitasking.

Happy Easter

Easter 2009
This year we had a pretty good easter. Claire woke up and in her room she discovered an easter dress. She calls it her wendy dress because its blue like wendys dress in the peter pan movie. She thought it was cool that the easter bunny also brought Lauren a wendy dress. After church we went to Johns house and had easter dinner with our familys. We had yummy ham, cheesy potatoes and some salad and rolls. It was so good. We also celebrated Blakes birthday who turned 2 years old. After the festivities, we had an easter egg hunt. Claire did really good. We forgot to bring her basket over to their house but they had this big huge one that they let claire borrow. The basket was so heavy, so mom had to help her carry it, but Claire caught on quickly and got lots of yummy candy. This year, instead of dying eggs, we decided to make some easter egg cake pops. They were really fun to make. They are also really fun to look at, dont you agree? Go here to learn how to make cake pops. All and all we had a wonderful easter and spent it with the people we love.

Hope you had a great easter!
