Ashby Family Runners

The John, Jill, Ian, Mason and Blake Ashby family all participated in their first race ever (except for John who had run some races over 10 years ago). We all ran the main street mile. Ian and mason ran in the 1/2 mile event for kids where they get to chase an ice cream truck and then eat ice cream. Out of 363 runners, Ian got 145th place, with a time of 6:19. Mason got 204th with a time of 7:58. Jill just ran with mason.

John was part of the five person team sponsored by his firm. Out of 16 teams, they finished 7th place, with John leading the team with a blazing fast time of 6:07, which made him 24th place out of 76 runners. John accomplished his only goal of being the fastest on his team. Everybody at the firm thought the one girl would be the fastest, so John paced himself 10 feet behind her and then passed her on the final stretch. Not bad for a guy who has gone on about 15 runs total this year (also 15 runs total in the last 10 years). John's goal for next year is 5:30.

Here is a link to the results:

Here is a picture in the statesman. Can you see Ian???? Follow the lady in the white tanktop's left arm down, and her elbow is pointing at Ian's head.

Given all our success in the Main Street Mile, we're thinking of running the next Ironman Triathalon.

early training

Jonah also got a new hat.

These pants used to fit Jonah. Now they are a bit big. On a more positive note, Jonah is starting to play.

What a life!!!

I was just given this picture yesterday. It is a picture of Reagan helping us decorate for the Stake Valentines Dance. Reagan enjoyed the decorations especially the balloons. The young women in the ward enjoyed having Reagan there helping.

Walking the dog

Since Reagan doesn't have a dog he thought he should practice by walking the hand mixer. Sorry mom he still likes walking the hand mixer. I hope that you are ready for Reagan to come play in your drawers and take the end of the door stopper off with his mouth.
