Jill and I have officially began our triathlon training.
The day after Jill and I bought our new bikes, we went on a 10 mile bike ride. Jill is in better shape than me from her cycling classes she does at the gym, but I was able to keep up. The only problem is that I got a serious case of bikers butt and couldn't ride for the next week. But I am now able to ride again.
We have also both practiced our 500 meter swim 3 times. The first time I was pretty sure I was going to drown, but I survived, although sore for 3 days afterwards. The second time I felt worse because I did it with my head under water and breathing to the side (i.e., the way normal people do it, but a way I had never tried before). Let's just say I sucked up quite a bit of water. Yesterday we went for the 3rd time and I swam 500 meters in 12 minutes and I didn't feel like I was going to faint afterwards. I felt really good until Jill swam the same distance right after me in 9 minutes and 50 seconds.
Plus several people commented how Jill looks much better in her swimming suit than I do in my Speedo . . .

Pretty cool. Except for the Speedo of course.

Marie and I have also started out triathlon training. However, we still don't have bikes, nor have we been swimming for about 2 years. I think that we are going to lose.
ReplyDeleteSorry, Dallen you are sadly mistaken. You are not going to be the losers. Dad & I would be except we are smart enough to not even try!!!!
ReplyDeleteI would really like to challenge all the men to wear speedo's. That would be awesome!!! LOL! I am a BIG fan.
