Oregon Coast Trip

So our family is on vacation at Jill's sister's house in Portland, Oregon. We decided to head over to the Oregon Coast for a day. It turned out to be a pretty cold day. Probably 40 degrees out, and rainy, so we're all hanging out in our coats. John sees some cool looking rocks out in the ocean, and makes a run for them when the waves pull back. He then yells for the boys (Ian and his cousins) to come join him on the rocks. They are a little concerned, but John says "come on guys it will be fine, just stand on that rock and let us take some pictures of you . . . those waves aren't very big . . ."
This is where a responsible dad would think maybe this wasn't such a good idea, but surely those waves aren't as big as they look.

Okay . . . maybe those waves are as big as they look. . .

  1. For some reason I am not surprised that John thought it would be a good idea to have the kids stand on the rock for a good picture.

I think dad may have put us in danger a couple times for a good photo. I remember the time I had to sit right in front of a buffalo next to a sign that says don't get too close to the buffalo for a photo it will charge you.

I am glad that Ian survived. I hope he had spare clothing.
