Riding the Train

Saturday Ben & I rode the Thunder Mountain Railroad from Horseshoe Bend to Banks and back again. The train had an engine at both ends so you returned the same way back as you came.



You had your choice of sitting outside in the open cars which we did. (The old hairy dude is Ben's supervisor at work)

Or you could ride in the cool air conditioned dining room. If you paid even more you got a little hobo lunch tied up in a red bandana. We went to subway afterwards.

This is the engine and me thinking how jealous Jonah and Reagan would be.

It was a lot of fun.

Playing with Fire

Every good grandparent knows that you should teach your grandchildren to play with fire. We did this last week!!! We had a celebration of playing off our house and burned some of the old payment sheets.

Everyone agreed that fire is fun.

Now we get to close our eyes and think of something fun to spend all of our money on.

Max was to little to play with fire so he had to play with squash.

Happy Birthday Lauren

Lauren turned 3. She says that she's now ready to be a big girl. We'll see...

Going to School Boy!

Since Ashleigh is out of town. I've been in charge of getting Claire to school. Today, I let her ride the bus to school for the first time.

I was glad that she was happy to see me, but sad that she was so happy to go.

Like Father Like Son

Have you ever seen a kid more like his dad? Ian and I did a 5K last weekend. Ian ran a PR of 24:30 (8 minute mile average), 2 minutes faster than his previous best 5K, and got second place in the 14 and under division. I ran it in 18:38, a new PR, and second place over all. Jill did not run, but she won two raffle prizes, a smelly candle and a big basket full of her favorite Camille Beckman lotion.

First day of school

Jonahs first day of preschool was yesterday. He was pretty excited. So was his mom.





Notice how Norah's feet go in circles when she gets excited.

Fun

We finally got around to going to our minature amusement park on the last day of summer. It was lots of fun.

Jonah went on his first roller coaster ride, They has to stop it early because he was scared.

Jonah did all of the rides that were not scary.









Norah also had lots of fun.
